Makeship The Darkest Faerie & Dr. Sloth Pre-Orders Launched

Makeship has just launched their next pre-order for plush The Darkest Faerie and Dr. Sloth dolls, available until October 22nd at 5 AM NST. But truthfully, you probably have more time than that because they've extended all of their prior campaigns by 2 weeks.

Each plushie will come with a Rare Item Code for a currently unknown item. The estimated shipping date is January 15, 2027.

Makeship plushies are guaranteed pre-orders, meaning the plushies will be produced-to-order based on the pre-order quantity. They will not be available for purchase after the pre-order window closes.

in my understanding, makeship is part of the issue. due to the way they operate, their designs can only get so complicated, and they're quick to compromise in the design back and forth. honestly would love them to try working with one of the other fund-a-plush sites, they'd most likely look better.

@mustacheducttape makeship simply brings the design to life so if the base design is not good for the type of product, there's only so much makeshifp can do. they're not creating or redrawing the design. they're just taking the design and turning it into merch

Sure, but the actual look/quality of the plush is lacking, regardless of the initial design provided to Makeship. That goes onto the distributor/maker, not the original IP holder. i agree they should look for a different manufacturer. I was disappointed with the jhundora & illusen plushies, so i don't anticipate buying either this time around.

before i'm crucified, i'm not aware of any controversies, but i like the quality that has come out of youtooz. I bought the baby aisha, and plushie shoyru & jubjub, and all 3 i've been shocked at how solid they seem & quality.

I wish they'd dump this company. Their plushies look and feel like the very cheaply made bootleg claw-machine plushies.
The brand they used for the Neo York Shoyru and Jubjub is so good quality and detail, I don't know why they would even try with anyone else.

They really need to improve these designs smh. I love my kass, but it has some glaring design problems. Hannah and Kanrik looked Not Good At All which is why I passed. These aren't... BAD characters to pick, but I think fans have made it clear we want non-faerie neopet npcs. Where's Jeran? I expected Hannah to be the second design and she was, but.... yeesh. Jeran is IMHO their best pick next because people who bought Kass will want him, too, and he's very popular. and a lupe. lol. I want Xandra so badly; I don't even care how ugly she is, I'll buy her. Another good choice I think they could go with is Vira, everybody loves Vira, she's a fun design and she was also recently plot relevant.

All of the Makeship plushies have looked poorly designed and cheaply made in my opinion. I have had zero desire to buy any of them and I *love* neopets plushies

TDF would be perfect to go with the other two... but alas... giving them money ehhhhh.

Sloth however looks.... wow... what a choice. And the MLB Kacheek quality was bad? What did that look like if they felt this was good?

Hugely disappointed as someone who's been a huge Dr. Sloth fan since they were a kid. I really wish they'd move on to a different company. While Makeship can do some designs fine, all the Neopets releases have been really rough-looking.

I hope all the characters they've done get better releases with a new company one day. It'd be lovely to see them in much better quality than Makeship seems willing to provide.

As someone who has a fairly extensive collection of Makeship plushies from a bunch of different brands. I 100% believe that this is on whoever submitted the designs/materials to use for the plushie.

Some of my FAVORITE plushies have came from Makeship so far. I just recently got in my Jad Plushie from OSRS and it is AMAZING!!! And the Pigni Plushie from TCG Card Shop Sim I got last year is still one of my all time favorites.

So, take this with a grain of salt but I deffo trust Makeship more than I trust the neopets design team for this one.

echoing an earlier comment but i also have multiple makeship plushies and they're honestly GREAT quality!! the issue here definitely falls into the designs and restrictions they're being given, because they DO make really great stuff!

that said, i don't find these to be that bad imo! sloth's definitely been hittin arm day at the gym a bit heavy and needs to even out his routine... but otherwise i don't think they're horrible lol

what i WOULD love though is plushies that look like the in-game faerie dolls. i know a lot of folks want non-faerie plushies, but if neo's gonna keep doing faeries it feels like such an obvious oversight on their part because how stinkin cute would it be to have ACTUAL faerie dolls?!

I don't own a single humanoid plush in my collection, but The Darkest Faerie might be the first exception since she's my favorite Neopian villain of all time...

Agreed, as excited as I am to see 2 of my favorite characters (especially Dr Sloth!!!), but his design is atrocious. Limited too plushies should be the minimum bar for quality imo. I hope they don't do Sloth dirty like this next time they make merch of him.

There's at least a few people in our community that do much better quality designs for plushies... One likes to dress as the Soup Faerie and she is savant at designing them; just check out the handmade plushie draik she submitted to last or this month's handmade contest.

@purslane they extended hannah at least twice to make sure it hit goal lol i would expect they'll just keep extending until sloth hits the 200 but i think 50 in the first 12 hours is pretty good considering there's no emails/on-site communication it's just word of mouth from fan communities

theyre already partnered with and have made plushies with phatmojo, i feel like they could get phatmojo to make more of the plushies and stuff instead of companies like youtooz and makeship. cuz the phatmojo plushies look nice and stuff too (and are less expensive, therefore i could buy them)

I do find it interesting they have cancelled a few projects in the past year alone due to "quality control", but the makeships just.... mmmm... I did like the lord kass, but I think as a furry plush it may be why it was more passable, but the last faerie set just felt off, and seeing these, they kinda look even worse in material wuality. Not to mention how cheap Dr Sloth looks...

I don't understand why people are commenting on the quality just by looks from the pictures. I have not had my hands on one of these plushies yet so I will reserve judgment until I receive my Hannah.

I miss the old keyquest plushies those were affordable AND nice quality. also miss the limited too ones. wish tnt would approach those companies again.

I have Kass, Illusen and Jhudora and despite all the very negative comments about the quality of them.. they are not that bad =/ While some of the designs are very simple (ie, Hannah and Sloth) part of that has to do with the characters they picked. I absolutly love the plushies I do have, and am very excited for the rest and all future ones.
As a side note, the quality of them far surpass the blind box plushies, as does the price. I can say this having own both.. I do admit the pictures do not do the Makeship plushies justice, but they shine in person.

I'm frankly (no pun intended) totally shocked at the reaction to the Sloth plushie. None of you people must be collectors of Sloth items. This plushie looks exactly like the highly coveted, impossible-to-get-one's-hands-on 'Dr Sloth Plushie'.

As soon as I saw it I just about lost my mind. I want it desperately, but the shipping costs for things like this are completely outrageous. For me to order this it would cost $45 US, and that's before any duties, and let's be real - with the trade situation with the US these days I would expect massive hidden costs at the door.

Unfortunately I just don't see myself buying this.

I'm a die hard TDF fan, but I'm not super happy with the design choices here. They put her new hair on with an older outfit, and the outfit doesn't have striped tights like it's often depicted. Also, her necklace is crooked. Her wings are lackluster to say the least. I have their Jhudora doll and her wings are noticeably more detailed stitching. I also wish they'd stop displaying them sitting down. They look much better standing up, like the faerie dolls on the site. Overall, I think there's too much to be nitpicky about for me to be happy about spending money on her, which is an absolute bummer bc I've wanted more TDF merch for forever. This could have been so cool.

@zoeyaugust1245 Yeah, I thought that too - it must be based on the pose when sitting. Otherwise it would be so tiny it would be impossible to get that level of detail in the face.

@purslane I don't know how long Hannah took. This is the first time I've paid any attention at all to Makeship. I'm just basing it on the fact that every time I go to the page, more sales have occurred. By the time the window (and likely extension) has passed, it will be fully sold.

Sloth is at 44% now.

I did end up buying a Sloth. With how much of a Sloth fan as I am, it would be INSANE for me to let the opportunity for Sloth merch pass me by. I also factored in the rare item code. Whether or not I bought the plushie I would have to get the rare item for my gallery, and getting the plushie saves me at least 70million NP on that.

And unlike others, I genuinely love this design and the way it references that hard-to-get in-game plushie.
