A second new avatar has been released today - you can unlock this one by playing with the Nostalgic Neopets Arcade Background. While this is a wearable background, it has the 'play' option in the inventory drop down list.

Like other recent avatars from certain merch and live events, this item is lendable to all of your Neofriends and may be used over and over again.


The Nostalgic Neopets Arcade Background itself is available from the rare item code included in the new console game's physical editions, the Mega Mini Games Collection, which released today. This is called a DLC on the game box but is a normally functioning rare item code.

Note that until around 11AM NST today the rare item codes were awarding the wrong item. Jellyneo had reports of both Blue Short Hair Brush and Grarrl Water Ring Toss Game. If you redeemed your code early and got either of these items instead, you should submit a ticket to Neopets support to get the correct item awarded.

Similarly, we have had some reports that some of the physical editions may not have shipped with the rare item code. It seems that this is consistently affecting the PS5 edition of the game, whereas the physical Switch edition has the code included. In this case, TNT are advising players to contact the game's distributor via email for the code, with proof of purchase, at [email protected]
