Custom Neopet Acrylic Keychains & Standees

Geekify has just unveiled a service to turn your Neopet into an acrylic keychain or standee! These 2" (~5cm) keychains and standees are officially licensed and each comes with a rare item code. These have a manufacturing time of 1-2 weeks, with a rush production option available for an additional fee.

See instructions on how to submit your pet's customisation on the product listing.

TBH, the images of the charms and standees looks a little low quality. hopefully they're better once theres orders made!
by pigfish99 on February 12, 2022 7:41 PM NST

I absolutely love this idea.

That's actually a really neat way to have your pets around irl

here's hoping the material is of decent quality
by androidturret on February 12, 2022 8:28 PM NST

Tbh, this is the *best* idea for merchandise. Anyone wanna run a tabletop RPG with Neopets? XD
by lasergu on February 12, 2022 9:52 PM NST

Wow. Nice idea. Geekify! My brothers and I used to make standees with blank Shrinky Dinks, played a lot of RPGs with them, but (1) never thought to do Neopets as we tended to prefer drawing our own characters *cough* Pokemon *cough*, (2) these should be more durable, and (3) they won't stink up the whole house outgassing while they're heat-shrinking. So much better than NFTs!
by galifan on February 12, 2022 10:08 PM NST

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
by twocue on February 12, 2022 11:38 PM NST

This is basically the NFT idea.. but five million times better. A fun idea for people with money to burn ^ -^
by apophis324 on February 13, 2022 12:14 AM NST

Well, I ordered one so let's see how this goes.
by orangeblossom45 on February 13, 2022 12:21 AM NST

See, now that is neat!
by zeelink on February 13, 2022 12:42 AM NST

@galifan your comment made me think you could print a screenshot and laminate it or buy a frame at the dollar store and get better than a two nch pic. I love that you made them with your brother to play RPGs
by roshchodesh on February 13, 2022 6:38 AM NST

Now see, THIS is an idea I can get behind!!!!

Also: heck yes to a Neopets RPG tabletop game.
by claytonskitten on February 13, 2022 7:49 AM NST

OMG YESSSSS Now this is something I foresee myself doing. Just gotta get everyone ready. @_@
by sp4de on February 13, 2022 8:26 AM NST

What a cute idea! I love this tbh!
by purrmeister on February 13, 2022 9:27 AM NST

Yes, this is a much better idea than NFTs. Also, Neopets board games/RPGs would be fun
by stracer on February 13, 2022 9:47 AM NST

Rare item codes come with ?
by premium17 on February 13, 2022 10:59 AM NST

Wow! They nailed it with this!
by winterland on February 13, 2022 11:34 AM NST

This is easily the best monetization idea they've had in a really long itme
by dragonperrisgirl on February 13, 2022 4:41 PM NST

The mockups/photos look really poor quality with pixelated edges, etc. The fact that they're asking users to literally dig through source code for an image file is also... really unprofessional? Even if it's not the best, I feel like it'd be way better to simply have customers put in a pet name and ask that they not change the customization until their order has been verified. If it's officially licensed, there should be a way for TNT to provide Geekify with a higher equality image of that pet's customisation... what Geekify is asking users to save is like 300x300 pixels. That is hardly print quality.

This is a nice idea and definitely more along the lines of what people actually want, but man, what a piss poor execution. :/
by kiriska on February 13, 2022 5:12 PM NST

Unrelated, but that Strawberry Shoy in the listing is really cute! Wonder if the artist is with TNT or Geekify?
by kiriska on February 13, 2022 5:14 PM NST

*fidgets*

Their merchandise is getting better! It's getting harder and harder to not want to get anything!

Stop making me want to buy your beautiful merchandise when you're still associating with NFTrash! You're making me feel very conflicted! 🤣
by 1jediboy on February 13, 2022 10:23 PM NST

This is a really great idea!!! However why are the instructions so convoluted? If it's officially licensed is there any reason to not make some kind of auto pet image generator where we just have to submit our pet names. If it was fanmade that would be fine but for official merch its a little weird.
by cutypie349514 on February 13, 2022 10:56 PM NST

You'd think they'd show the simpler way to get a PNG file; because all you have to do is go to your userlookup, rightclick the image of your pet and open the image in a new tab (though having a feature directly implemented so one can enter their pet's name as mentioned above is far more customer friendly).
by aviagua on February 14, 2022 6:39 AM NST

Weird they didn't just have save as PNG in neopets for your pet.
by jomarcenter on February 14, 2022 7:18 AM NST

@aviagua: That wouldn't work if you have a background/foreground on your pet. Geekify wants the special no-background/no-foreground version of your pet, which is only available on the Neopets homepage, or in the Battledome.

(Albeit, if you have Firefox, it's as simple as right clicking on your Neopet on the homepage and saving the image. Only Chrome users need to suffer by looking through source code!)
by dave on February 14, 2022 10:26 AM NST JN Staff

What a fantastic idea! Not only can you make your own personalized pet, but this is really great for folks whose favorite species don't get any merchandising.

I wonder if you could submit a UC image and get an old-school style pet printed...?
by chaosshadow on February 14, 2022 3:19 PM NST

The image quality is really poor. I love the idea and they would look spectacular if the source images weren't low quality to begin with.
by himmicca on February 16, 2022 8:38 AM NST

WOW!! Now THIS is Neopets merch I can get behind!! I may order one in the future to see how good of quality they are.. If I lke, I will ABSOLUTELY get every pet..
Now I gotta decide which pet will be my Guinea pig
by mzlish on February 17, 2022 7:12 PM NST

I would bet the reason for the low quality of pixels is grabbing the .jpg. It would be better to send then .png images most likely if we wanted better quality.
*I am not an expert, just from experience .jpg is usually just lower quality.
by anomally on February 22, 2022 4:14 PM NST

Also if anyone wants to start a DnD themed NP group around these...
