Neopets x Cakeworthy Collection

A new Neopets merch collaboration has launched with the fashion brand Cakeworthy, featuring 11 exclusive items.

This collection includes Neopets first ever series of blind box enamel pins! Which faerie dolls will you get? (NOTE: The product description names 7 faeries plus 1 mystery faerie, Your possibilities include Illusen, Jhudora, Fyora, Taelia, Kari, The Tooth Faerie, The Soup Faerie, and one mystery Faerie! The product photo shows all 8 different faeries, including the Darkest Faerie who is not named in the description and is likely the "mystery Faerie".)

There's a small range of clothing in ladies or unisex sizing–a sweater, flannel shirt, dress, long sleeve shirt, T-shirt, and rather vibrant onesie. Don't forget the accessories–a mini backpack and tote, as well as stationery–sticky notes and a notebook. Cakeworthy ships to the US, Canada, and the UK.

"Your Neopets are dying"? Why would I want to wear that on a sweater? Unless the text read "Neopets is dying", what sort of message would that be spreading?

That's pretty niche.

So when an old player with a long forgotten account that was purged, hence obliterating all their pets, is confronted with someone sporting a bag declaring "your neopets are dying" they could very well fall to their knees and dramatically wail "They're already dead! Why do you torment me??"

I like the faerie doll pins but hate the blind box idea. I just want to know what I'd get. They're too expensive to be left to chance. But oh well, it's not going to be a problem to me since they only ship to three countries and none of those is mine.

And "Your Neopets are dying" may sounds edgy but is just weird to me.

OMG those are so good

I love the "Your Neopets are dying" stuff, especially since my account (and all of my friends accounts) are abandoned by this point. I love when brands don't take themselves so seriously, this is such a meme.
But these don't ship to Brazil as usual and it's all very expensive so *shrugs*

I like "Your Neopets are dying," I think it's funny. I think the graphics could be more subtle (for a one-image shirt, a smaller image would be nice, and for some of the multi-image shirts, it's just a lot). The back of the black shirt is probably my favorite. The neon-color outlines work really well on black.

I like the faerie pins, but agree that $12 for a blind box is kind of meh. I'd rather pay $15 but know what I'm getting, or be able to pay $X and know I got the whole set.

I don't dislike the clothing designs, but it's nothing I'd ever wear. I prefer more subtle (The blue dress is closest to it) or more artistic rather than something that screams 'NEOPETS' or says 'Your Neopets Are Dying' which is like... yeah it's a joke, but at a certain point it's overused.

Why does everything have to be online to buy? And not at a place I've heard of before? I think Hot Topic was the only place I actually HAVE heard of where where I bought my one Neo shirt. Which is more Christmas-themed anyway.

I love the pins! The clothing is..... well, most of it is a little meh for me. The "Your Neopets Are Dying" is both funny and stupid. I've noticed the other flannel shirts have equally dumb sayings on them as well, so it must just be the trend. I like the dress and Faerie shirt the best. I suppose I should give whoever designed them credit for not being just unisex shirts with an image slapped on them. At least these are different pieces.

"Your Neopets are dying" seems pretty accurate when all the funds are being siphoned for an NFT project. Neopets can't die from starvation, but they will when NetDragon pulls the plug on the non-crypto version!

Also, a bigger concern, I have seen that all over fanmade merch before, so while it's not as big of a controversy as them stealing ART, it still feels a bit shady.

I've been on the site so long that if I were to wear any of that clothing or merch, I'd look like the poster child for a mid-life crisis. Some nice stuff there but for me, it's a hard pass.

I wish I could get the set of Faerie pins without the blind box garbage. Everything else is an improvement to other merch they've done, since it's not just one design slapped on the front of a shirt - the old style logo is an improvement! - but not worth it to me. I'm also not a fan of "Your Neopets are dying" because it's been meme'd to hell and hasn't been true in a very, very long time. Only the sweater seems nice to me since it's very retro imo. But it's 56.80USD to ship to Canada. That's over $70 CAD for me. Even the sticky notes are a lot: 6 dollars before taxes and shipping. I'd have to really think on it; I'd just wear these things at home anyway since I'm not a big fan of wearing product merch to begin with.

I wouldn't mind buying some Neopets merchandise, maybe a set of pajamas or a poster or keychain, BUT - I want something that looks special or artistic or cute. I personally wouldn't buy any of this stuff they're offering... apart from maybe the long sleeved white shirt, which has a nicer graphic... They all just strikes me as being rather flat... like they designed them in Microsoft Paint or just slapped some static images from the site on something and said "here ya go!"

Oh I just looked at more of the product shots for the mini backpack and it looks really high quality. The zipper pulls are metal faerie paint brushes! I just wish they had the dimensions on it, since "mini backpack" just tells me it's small, but doesn't say how small.

I like the "your neopets are dying" thing. It's kind of a throwback to people always asking if they actually die. Its totally meme worthy!
I don't think it should've been on a bag.. A shirt works.
I like the Faerie pet backback and the money tree notebook.
I love the gacha blind box idea... But darn it, I don't want faerie pins..
I want vinyl Neopets in basic colors, painted colors and EVERY species available.. Not no 20 different types.

I love the attempt but I might pass on these.

I don't like stuff with a logo on it, no matter the fandom. I like the more subtle stuff. The pins are cute! The randomness, not so much. Doesn't matter though, they don't ship to my country either.

It's funny that the neopets dying flannel is definitely something I would have worn before the NFT fiasco. Now? I wouldn't be caught dead. Though the impression I have that Neopets is infamous for being out of touch with its users may just be in my own head lol.

The faerie pins are seriously tempting, I'd just get one and try my luck or maybe see if ppl sell specific ones on the aftermarket if there is one. I've been into enamel pins for a while and these actually look like something I'd want to have. I'm guessing the "mystery" pin might be the Space Faerie (though if that turns out tho be the case I can imagine ppl being upset with the dark skinned faerie being harder to get or something idk). Maybe the Sloth Faerie tho!

Anyway I'm torn between not wanting to spend ANY money on Neo versus the idea that maybe if the actual good merch takes off they'll, y'know, forget this NFT business. Not likely tho... I just want a faerie pin ^^;

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I thnk the "Your Neopets are dying" is hilarious, and for once a merch item I might actually wear.

It's funny because it's such a classic Neopets comment, and it has a fun nostalgia to it.

No they're not, they survive on a wonderful diet of Omelettes and Jellies. I'm sure all the cholesterol and sugar isn't too much of a negative health impact. (And this of course doesn't count the stranger ones like the Oil Jelly I just fed my Lupe (though he's colored Fire so I figured it would be sorta like fuel to him)...).

Yeah, I am an older Neopets player and so I would not buy any of those wearables. No. wait - they are cute but not my style even if I was younger. Just my opinion.

I don't normally go for blind boxes at all but I like pretty much all of the faeries so I'll be happy to add any one of the pins to my collection. I hope the mystery faerie is the grey faerie (and if I don't get her I hope I never find out if it was or not!!)

An important note on the mystery pin box: the mystery faerie alluded to in the product description is likely the Darkest Faerie.

The product photo shows a Darkest Faerie Doll pin, but the Darkest Faerie is not one of the 7 named faeries in the description.

So no Baelia, Jhuidah, Space Faerie, etc.
