The
Neopets Weekly Series of trading cards, originally released in
January of last year on Upper Deck e-Pack that was
paused after the first week of sales to address some concerns from the community, is relaunching tomorrow.
The cards have all been redesigned and reprinted, fixing many of the issues from the original launch.
Original Design
2024 Update
Each week for nine weeks, 499 packs of digital trading cards will be released for $5.99 a pack. Packs will be available for one week or until they sell out. (Week one sold out in just 12 minutes!) Each pack contains three base cards (the three species for the specific week—27 to collect) plus one baby variant (of the possible three per week—27 to collect).
Select packs will also contain Faerie variants (1 in 6 packs—27 to collect) or
Grundo Warehouse code cards (1 in 12.2 packs) that award one of three exclusive virtual items. You also have a chance at receiving a limited-to-one printing plate card.
These virtual cards can be traded within e-Pack to other users just like real cards, and then when you are happy with what you have, you can redeem them for physical versions for a small fee: a flat shipping charge starting at $5.00 USD with pricier options if you want expedited shipping, plus $1.00 for the first card and $0.25 for each additional card.
There are also two sets of achievement cards. One random Darigan variant (9 to collect) is earned for each complete set of 27 base series cards that you redeem (so if you want the full set of nine you need 9 full sets of base cards). One random Mutant variant (9 to collect) is earned for each complete set of 27 Baby series cards that you redeem (so if you want the full set of nine you need 9 full sets of Baby cards).
As previously stated by Upper Deck,
all cards in a set must be redeemed at the same time in order to earn the achievement card. As of now there has been no communication on whether or not Week 1 is being reissued (updated printings exist, so it's likely), so it is advised that you wait to redeem your cards until after the full series has been released.
